Binghamton Philharmonic Presents Free String Quartet Concert
novo4tet performs music of Revueltas, Ginastera,
Lavista and Sanchez-Gutierrez.
Concert Hosted by Composer-in Residence.
On Sunday, January 13, 2008, at 3:00 p.m.
in the First Presbyterian Church of Binghamton (42 Chenango Street,
Binghamton) the Binghamton Philharmonic continues its
new series of free chamber music concerts, called South of the Border:
Explorations, examining the diverse world of contemporary classical
music. The concerts are hosted by the Binghamton Philharmonic's
composer-in-residence Carlos Sánchez-Gutiérrez. The
January 13 concert features a performance by novo4tet of music by
Silvestre Revueltas (Musica de Feria), Alberto Ginastera
(String Quartet No. 2), Mario Lavista (Reflejos de la Noche)
and Carlos Sánchez-Gutiérrez (Cinco para Cuatro).
novo4tet is a recently formed string quartet made up of principals of
the Binghamton Philharmonic.
Admission to this concert is free and seating is by general

novo4tet novo4tet was formed in 2005 by the principal string players of the
Binghamton Philharmonic: Uli Speth and Amy Christian
(violin), Martha Brody (viola) and Hakan Tayga Hromek
(cello). novo4tet is dedicated to presenting eclectic programs that pair
classics of the past with those of the future. They have performed locally
at the Heart of the Arts Awards, First Night Binghamton, Spool.mfg gallery and
the Phelps Mansion Museum.

series is made possible by a grant from The New York State Music Fund,
established by the New York State Attorney General at Rockefeller Philanthropy
