Baritone Guido LeBron Headlines Binghamton Philharmonic Pops Concert

Local Favorite Performs Popular Arias and Songs From Opera, Broadway and Zarzuela

On Saturday, March 1, 2008, at 8:00 p.m. in the Forum Theatre in Binghamton, the Binghamton Philharmonic, José-Luis Novo music director and conductor, continues its 2007-2008 Pops Series with An Evening with Guido LeBrón .   Born in Puerto Rico, baritone Guido LeBrón lives in Binghamton and is well known to local audiences from his performances with Tri-Cities Opera and other area performing organizations. LeBrón has gone on to a major international career performing with opera companies in Europe and the Americas. For this Binghamton Philharmonic Pops concert, LeBrón will sing popular arias and songs from the worlds of opera, Broadway and zarzuela, a Spanish musical theater form popular throughout Latin America. Tickets range from $29-$40 for adults, $26-$37 for seniors (over 60) and $10 for students and children. Guido LeBron

With a repertory of more than 50 roles, baritone Guido LeBrón has been acclaimed internationally and with leading opera companies in Ireland, Spain, Costa Rica, Mexico, Canada, Puerto Rico and the United States in such roles as Rigoletto, Germont, Renato, Rodrigo, Scarpia, Marcello, Sharpless, Jack Rance and Gianni Schicchi.  In the bel canto repertory, he has performed Valentin, Figaro, Belcore, Enrico and Malatesta.  Other roles include Don Giovanni, Guglielmo, Papageno, Escamillo, Gerard and Wolfram.  In the United States, he has had engagements with Palm Beach Opera, San Francisco Opera, Washington National Opera, the Metropolitan Opera, Tulsa Opera, Nashville Opera, Florentine Opera, Knoxville Opera, Virginia Opera, Opera Orchestra of New York, Atlanta Opera and Utah Opera.  Recent and upcoming engagements include returns to Florentine Opera in Aida, Opera Pacific in Florencia en el Amazonas, Atlanta Opera in Rigoletto, Utah Opera in Tosca, Connecticut Opera in Cavalleria Rusticana, National Theatre of Costa Rica in Pagliacci, Opera de Caracas, Venezuela in Un Ballo in Maschera and Bellas Artes, San Juan, Puerto Rico in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Madama Butterfly and Die Fledermaus as well as concerts with Eugene Symphony.
